About PlayMods

PlayMods is a catalogue of modded Android games and apps, and the community around it. Hosting a file is the easy half; the useful half is telling you what the build is and what it changes before you install it.

We keep it going because Android is open, and that is worth something. The point is to offer choices the official store does not carry — with the trade-offs stated plainly instead of glossed over.

Every listing starts from a build published by a third-party modding group. We fetch the file and read its package name and version from the APK itself; where the source page says something different, the file wins.

The description is written for PlayMods from the app's Google Play listing, rather than copied from the mirror sites that repeat each other word for word. The MOD features are the modder's own list, reproduced as given, so you can see exactly what is being claimed.

When a newer build turns up, the listing moves to it. If one looks out of date, the Request update button on the page tells us.

Being straight about what gets checked is more useful than a safety badge. For each file we confirm the package name and version from the APK and show the file size. Where Google Play publishes a Data safety disclosure for the app, we reproduce it — the data the official app collects and shares — with a link to the source and the date we retrieved it.

What we do not do: run antivirus scans, install each build on a device to try it, or confirm that every advertised feature works. Nobody can offer "100% safety" for modified software, so leave Play Protect enabled and read what it tells you before installing anything sideloaded.

That disclosure describes the official app, and a modified build can behave differently. A simple utility asking for your microphone, your location or your contacts without a reason is worth noticing before you tap Allow.

Downloads come from our own storage, not from a third-party file locker or a mirror we do not control. Each link is generated for your visit, and the page shows the file size and the Android version needed before you start.

Older builds are not thrown away the moment a new one lands. We keep a few recent versions of each app, which helps when a newer release drops support for an older phone or the previous version simply suited you better. You will find them in the version history on each listing.

PlayMods is an index and a community, not the author of the files. The APKs come from third-party developers and modding groups; what we add is the checking, the context and a way to find them. Rights holders can use our DMCA process at any time, and we act on what comes in.
