Description

ShadeType Privacy Screen MOD APK is a typing-focused privacy tool that covers the rest of your display while keeping your keyboard visible. It is designed to make text harder for nearby people to read without changing the keyboard you use.

A small control appears above the keyboard when you begin typing. Tap it to place the veil, press and hold the veil to view your text, and release it to hide the text again.

Keyboard-based privacy

ShadeType Privacy Screen MOD APK covers the screen around the keyboard instead of applying a dim filter all day. The veil remains slightly translucent, allowing you to faintly read your own text at arm's length while making it difficult for someone beside you to read.

  • Tap OFF to remove the veil when you no longer need it.
  • The veil closes automatically when you close the keyboard.
  • Drag the control to a different screen position so it does not cover the area where you are writing.
  • The control remembers where you placed it.

Where you can use it

The overlay is intended for typing private messages while travelling, entering passwords or bank details in public, and writing in shared workplaces, waiting rooms, or classrooms. It can also be used when you are chatting, journaling, or taking notes where shoulder surfing is a concern.

Because the veil is a system overlay, it works wherever you can type, including messaging, email, notes, browsers, banking apps, and social media.

Your existing keyboard

ShadeType Privacy Screen MOD APK does not replace your keyboard. You continue using Gboard, SwiftKey, or another installed keyboard with its existing autocorrect, swipe typing, and emoji options.

Free and Pro options

The free app includes the veil, hold-to-peek behaviour, instant off control, a draggable control, and automatic removal when the keyboard closes. It has no ads, subscription, or account requirement.

The Pro option adds adjustable veil opacity, Ink, Slate, Warm, and Pure veil styles and colours, control size and starting position settings, and animation-speed choices including instant. It also includes automatic veiling for selected apps, excluded apps, a Quick Settings tile, and automatic startup after a restart.

Overlay limits and privacy

ShadeType Privacy Screen MOD APK is a software overlay rather than a polarising screen protector. It does not change the display's hardware viewing angles and does not prevent screenshots, screen recording, or a camera directed at the phone.

It uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when the keyboard is open, its position, and the foreground app so that per-app rules can work. Typed text is not read, recorded, or transmitted, while settings stay in the app's private storage. The app also records anonymous usage counts without personal information.

Mod Review

This build fits people who type private messages, notes, passwords, or bank details where nearby screens are easy to read. It also suits users who want to keep Gboard, SwiftKey, or another existing keyboard rather than switch keyboard apps. Pass on it if you need protection from screenshots, screen recording, or a camera aimed at the display. Users who prefer not to share app interactions, installed-app information, or device identifiers should consider the listed data collection first.

Inside this build

Premium Unlocked is the modification label for this build. ShadeType Privacy Screen MOD APK still works as a keyboard-triggered software overlay, with the control appearing when you type. Its core behaviour remains the same: tap to veil the screen, hold to peek, and remove the veil when you finish. The version listed for this build is 1.0.6, which includes a hotfix for the veil button.

Strengths

  • The keyboard remains visible, letting you continue using autocorrect, swipe typing, and emoji while the surrounding screen is veiled.
  • Hold-to-peek lets you check your text briefly without leaving the overlay disabled for the entire typing session.
  • The draggable control remembers its position, helping keep it away from the text field you are using.
  • Per-app rules can automatically veil selected apps or keep the control out of apps where it is unwanted.

Trade-offs

  • The overlay cannot alter viewing angles or prevent screenshots, recordings, or camera capture of the display.
  • Google Play lists app interactions, installed apps, and device or other IDs among the data collected.
  • Android 8.0 or later is required before you can use this build.

Bottom line

Install it when your main need is obscuring typed content from people nearby while retaining your current keyboard. Check that your device runs Android 8.0 or later, then compare the 1.0.6 veil-button hotfix with the build you plan to use.

FAQ

This build is labelled Premium Unlocked. ShadeType Privacy Screen remains a keyboard-triggered overlay that can veil the screen, let you hold to peek at text, and turn off when the keyboard closes.

Does ShadeType Privacy Screen replace Gboard or SwiftKey?

No. ShadeType Privacy Screen works alongside the keyboard already installed on your device. Your existing autocorrect, swipe typing, and emoji options remain available.
