Before you install
- When Android refuses the install, it is the unknown-sources guard doing it. Grant this app permission in Settings, then confirm the install when the prompt comes back.
- An "incompatible version" message usually means the build was compiled for the older ARMv7 processors that recent phones no longer accept. Look for the ARM64 (ARMv8) build of the same version instead.
Download FAQs
What changes in this Premium Unlocked build of ShadeType Privacy Screen?
This build is labelled Premium Unlocked. ShadeType Privacy Screen remains a keyboard-triggered overlay that can veil the screen, let you hold to peek at text, and turn off when the keyboard closes.
Does ShadeType Privacy Screen replace Gboard or SwiftKey?
No. ShadeType Privacy Screen works alongside the keyboard already installed on your device. Your existing autocorrect, swipe typing, and emoji options remain available.
Can the veil be enabled automatically in certain apps?
The Pro option includes auto-veil rules for apps you choose. It can also skip apps where you do not want the control to appear.
What does ShadeType Privacy Screen protect against?
It helps hide typed content from people nearby by covering the screen around the keyboard. It does not change the display's viewing angles and cannot block screenshots, screen recordings, or a camera pointed at the phone.
What Android version does ShadeType Privacy Screen require?
ShadeType Privacy Screen requires Android 8.0 or later as a minimum. The app uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect the keyboard state, its position, and the foreground app for per-app rules.
Nothing happens when I tap download
Refresh the page and start again — each link is signed for one visit and stops working after that. If it keeps failing, the file is probably being swapped for a newer build; give it a few minutes.
Android says "App not installed"
Usually there is already a copy of the same app on the phone, signed by someone else. Remove that copy first, then install this file — and back up anything you care about inside the app beforehand, because uninstalling wipes it.
